Originally built in the late 1950s, the Miami Beach Convention Center was due for a significant upgrade to stay competitive in the crowded but lucrative convention industry. The three-year, $620 million renovation included a 950,000 sf LEED Silver certified addition. One of the challenges was keeping the facility open in phases for trade shows. To manage this, Acousti coordinated the planning and erection of temporary walls, corridors and ceilings during the multiple phases of the project that would allow for proper entry and exit of the public attending shows while construction progressed around them. Scope of work included drywall, insulation, acoustical and specialty ceilings, stucco, and various wall panels.
