Moorings Park is a prominent retirement community located in Naples, FL spanning 83-acres and located just minutes from the Gulf. The Center for Healthy Living is Mooring Park’s latest addition to the community. The three-story, 37,000-square-foot wellness center offers residents customizable concierge medical services, including a medical clinic, rehab therapy, fitness equipment, comprehensive spa amenities, and common spaces for education and social activities.
The cornerstone of the center’s overall design and its new buildings is a combination of transparency and walkability. Design considerations were made for the scale of each building’s exterior and interior, the positioning of pathways and foot bridges, residents’ proximity to the Wellness Center, Trio restaurant, outdoor terraces, and other common meeting spots. Additionally, expansive windows were introduced to all campus buildings, as well as open air pathways and balconies, to increase access to panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. A new interiors palette features neutral colors, acoustical wood ceilings, carpet tiles, and furniture that is more accustomed to luxury hotels than senior living homes.
Acousti was right for the job as we were able not only to fulfill the architect’s complex requirements on the project demanding in-depth 3D development to provide quality and dimensionally correct components, but also on time and under budget. The ceilings were manufactured with extruding aluminum beams, grid systems with perimeter trims, and perforated panels. Ceilings in the lobby were compounded curved to create their concave shame. Beam suspension and perimeter trims were stretch formed to create the multiple radii required to create the unique shape of the ceilings.
