The Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a new resort that is designed to thematically resemble beach resorts from the 1950s and ‘60s whilst simultaneously integrating modern amenities and touches. The first 600 family suites are now available. The resort will have a total of 1,800 units and the amenities include a bowling alley, a food court, a fitness studio, and a 10,000-square foot pool that includes a water tower and water slide. A second, 8,000 square-foot pool will be added by summer. Working from the design created by architecture and design firm LPBC, Acousti Engineering partnered with Balfour Beatty to work on this exciting project.
Acousti Engineering was proud to have a hand in the construction of this facility; we put our expert skills to use to install specialty ceilings, acoustical ceilings, and acoustical wall panels on this job. Acousti quality of workmanship and attention to detail were especially evident in how we met the challenge of lining up the clouds on the specialty ceilings without any visible bracing. Attention to detail and communication was key, and the relationships between the foremen and trades is evident in the finished product. This project was important for Acousti because Cabana Bay Beach Resort at Universal showcases our unique work in a truly public setting that visitors from all around the world can enjoy. The project required double shifts and Acousti worked as a team with Balfour Beatty to deliver this project on time, as everyone involved in this project knew how important it was to get this facility up and running for summer vacations.
